CHC Teams Compete in Florida, South Carolina, California
02/21/2013 -- Alumni are invited to cheer CHC baseball, men’s and women’s tennis, and men’s lacrosse teams during spring break competition in sunny climes. Living in or around--or visiting--Myrtle Beach, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Ft. Pierce, and Boca Raton, as well as Belmont and San Rafael, California, from February 22 through March 2? Hurricane Sandy — Team Alumni Campaign Announces Total Raised
02/05/2013 -- A hearty thank you is extended to alumni of all Schools of the College who contributed $9,590 in money cards for deserving families in Monmouth County, N.J., during the pre-Christmas Hurricane Sandy —Team Alumni fundraising campaign.
The 17-day effort, conducted through one e-mail appeal on November 29, followed by a brief reminder e-mail on December 12, produced remarkable donations from 93 alumni for parishes staffed by the Sisters of Saint Joseph. The total raised includes more than $600 sent directly to St. Rose Parish and School in Belmar, N.J., after the College closed for the holidays on December 20, two days following the official end to the campaign.

CHC Mourns the Passing of Sister Agnes Shields
02/05/2013 -- Agnes Shields, SSJ, Ph.D., retired associate professor of English, passed away on Sunday, February 3, at Saint Joseph Villa in Flourtown, Pa. Sister Agnes taught at Chestnut Hill College from 1989 to 2005, specializing in American literature. A graduate of Chestnut Hill College, Sister Agnes earned her Ph.D. at Temple University, where she focused her dissertation on Irish writer George Russell (A.E.). A viewing begins at 1:30 on Thursday, February 7, at Saint Joseph Villa, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m.
Hurricane Sandy —Team Alumni Drive at Half-Way Mark . . . and Rolling
12/11/2012 --- The 17-day drive to produce Christmas money/gift cards for children of families in Monmouth County, N.J., parishes staffed by the Sisters of Saint Joseph reached its half-way mark with wonderful response from CHC alumni. Alums and families who attended the two seatings of Breakfast With Santa on Sunday, December 9, contributed gift cards to the collection that has been arriving in the mail since December 3 for these hundreds of families affected by Hurricane Sandy. Alumni who would like to bring Christmas cheer to children with very little and, in some cases, nothing are urged to mail Visa or Mastercards gift/money cards to arrive in the Office of Alumni Relations by Tuesday, December 18. Holiday Cheer
12/6/2012 --- Our 7th Annual Holiday Cheer welcomed alumni of all ages and all Schools of the College on Friday, November 30, to Upstairs at Campbell's. Be sure to check next year's (2013) calendar, which has now scheduled Friday, December 6, for the eighth gathering of alums for this seasonal celebration. Same time (8:45-10:45), same place (Upstairs at Campbell's, Chestnut Hill), but beginning in 2013, different date, as the first Friday in December will be designated for the alumni event, regardless of the date of Carol Night on campus. Book December 6, today, for next year's Holiday Cheer!
